Kittys!!!!! (and some other stuff that gets eaten by kittys)

It was still quite early when we got picked up by our driver in a, well, pretty decent looking car. Riding in that massive thing felt like we were about to enter Jurassic Park.
The first part was pretty comfortable, there even was a decent road. We stopped at the Great Rift Valley

After three hours or so, we had to leave the beautiful tarmac road and try not to fall out of the seats. It was a very bumpy ride, but nothing compared to the actual safari. We came past a bunch of traditional Maasai villages. The kids seemed to get really excited when they saw us come past.

When we finally arrived, quite shaken, a welcoming committee, was waiting for us. The manager, assistant, and spear men. I'm not kidding, spear men. Men with spears. Dressed in traditional Massai clothing. Who were just standing there, greeting us, while holding spears! They showed us around and guided us to our tents. Those were not camping tents, or small permanent things with sleeping mats, like we kind of expected, those were, well, decent enough I guess.

Look at these BEDS #bonzenkinder
And there was a oorch with view to a river where hippos hang around sometimes and the most amazing shower you could imagine.

Right after we got over our amazement about how weirdly luxurious this camp seemed to be we went to eat lunch, and it was great.

Then it was soon time for our first game drive!
I am very excited about these pictures so, for a realistic reading experience, imagine me waving these pictures in front of your face and yelling almost incomprehensible but happy.

An African Buffalo. Look at those horns!

Bones like these laid around everywhere. Leftovers from kitty snacks.

If you zoom in you can see the scar on its shoulder.

I just want to hug him and tell him everything will be alright! Why do you look so sad, buffie?
After this very successful first drive, i mean we got to see these cute freaking kitties on the first try, we were super excited and happy to have some dinner. They served all kinds of traditional African dishes. It was dark, and for some reason we were not allowed to go back to the tents without a spear man to escort us afterwars, which was quite amusing.

The next morning a steward woke us up and served us cookies and coffe and hot chocolate. It was a nice way to wake up.
It was still before dawn and we got to see the most amazing sunrise.
